The Haunted Maze

Filed under: Attractions — admin @ 10:46 am

One of the three mazes gets haunted after dark of Friday and Saturday nights (and on Thursday night October 30th and Friday night October 31st).  We recommend the haunted maze for ages 12 and up however, parental discretion always takes precedence.

Expect to stand in line for the haunted maze.  The lines can be as long as 20 to 45 minutes (and possibly longer during our last weekend when we expect large crowds).  For the haunted maze to be fun for everyone, we must use 3 to 5 minute spacing between groups of 5 to 6 people at a time.  The maze will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Please be in line for the haunted maze no later than 10 pm.
After 10 pm if no one is in line, then the haunted maze will close.

Giving Back

Filed under: Giving Back — admin @ 7:08 pm

Benson Farms believes in giving back to our community by fielding a team for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, by donating free tickets to non-profit organizations, by collecting food for donation to the Food Bank of Lincoln, and by partnering with York College coaches and student athletes in a funding raising event.

American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

Each year Benson Farms fields a Relay for Life team to raise money for finding a cure to cancer. Our friends and family participate on the team and have raised more than $5,000 each year. Our team’s effort has earned us the American Cancer Society’s Silver Team recognition in 2006 and 2007. Please join our team and help us give to a cause that affects all of us. If you would like to be on our team, please email our team captain Ida Lim at maze@bensonfarms.com.

Non-Profit Organizations

Each year Benson Farms donates hundreds of free tickets to non-profit organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, the YWCA Survival Skills Program, Saint Monica’s Adolescent Girls Unit, and to the families who serve in the Nebraska Army and Air National Guard. Contact us if your organization would like free tickets.

Food Bank of Lincoln

Each year Benson Farms request you bring a food item to the farm to be donated to the Food Bank of Lincoln. For your generous donation we discount your admission by $1.00. Here are the yearly total food donations:

2005 – 1,142 pounds

2006 – 1,168 pounds

2007 – 1,303 pounds

Those donations total 3,613 pounds! Thank you for your kindness! Please visit www.lincolnfoodbank.org to see what donations are urgently needed.

York College

The York College coaches and student athletes has partnered with Benson Farms to raise money for their athletic department. They operated the haunted maze and received a percentage of all haunted maze ticket sales in 2007. York College is a Christian College in York, Nebraska with an enrollment of approximately 500 students.

Passports

Filed under: Plan A Visit, Attractions — admin @ 7:11 am

Each of our mazes includes 10 passport questions. These questions are an interactive way to learn and test your knowledge on the subjects of corn, religion, sports, and American history. The answer contains the correct direction you should follow at that decision point to successfully navigate the maze.

Passport signs numbered 1 through 10 are sequentially located in the maze from the beginning to the end. Each numbered sign corresponds to the numbered question on the passport. Because there are several solutions to the maze, you may not find every sign while navigating the maze. Lastly, it does not matter which passport you use – corn, religion, sports, and American history – they all work. Before you enter the maze, pick up your passport questions in our barn.
